Part 4
Dollywood
Fall Break
Well, Fall Break has come and gone, but we made sure to stay busy during the time off! The next couple of posts will share pics of all of the fun! We went bowling, had Gatti's with friends, visited Dollywood, played at the Pumpkin Patch, and still managed to sneak in time for a movie (Secretariat........a must see! The kids were a little lost, but they watched and Jody and I loved it).

Little Girl Sleepover
I'm two weeks late posting this, but I wanted to make sure to share that Addie had several girls over for a sleepover. Gah! It was quite an adventure for mommy......I think I've just become accustomed to boys, and, well, girls are so very different. Of course there was drama, tears and boo boo's, but there was also tons of smiles, fun, and giggling. Both of the girls brought their American Girl dolls!

The girls picked McDonald's for dinner. YUCK. But, we packed up and made a trip of it anyway. I was driving and noticed something strange hanging from the ceiling in the back. When I looked back, this is what I saw! The girls rigged the buckle to cover their dolls (this pic was taken at a stoplight :)!!!!!!
During the movie. Asher wouldn't leave the girls alone and insisted on being a part of everything they did. I had to kick him out of the room crying because he couldn't stay in there when the girls were changing for bed. Somehow he talked the girls into watching a Chipmunks Halloween Movie. This lasted about 10 minutes before they got scared and we had to switch the movie to Tinkerbelle. LOL! I took this pic of the girls after their popcorn. So sweet how they are swaddled up together. Not long after this pic, Asher was in the floor too beside Emma (far left).......I'll have to keep my eyes on these two in the years to come!

A few more from the trip
Asher was really interested in this guy playing music in one of the old log cabin homes. At one point a group of the kids gathered around him to dance.....
The kids got to sing some songs in the barn and were able to help make the music using "old" instruments. Asher was picked to help with the cowbell!
Museum Of Appalachia Field Trip
Last week I was able to join Addie and Asher on their first field trip of the year. Their Pre-1st class will be doing a field trip once a month this year and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be around for all the fun! For their first trip, they visited the Museum of Appalachia. The kids were so excited, but really interested in seeing how people used to live. They loved all of the log cabins, seeing an old church, seeing an old schoolhouse (and the outhouses), and looking through all of the preserved items in the display barn. The favorites seemed to be a glass eyeball (you'll have to go visit to read the story about this), an old playhouse, and Asher got a big kick out of a guitar made out of an old toilet seat! It was a great day and we can't wait for the next one!!!

An American Girl
A few more pics of our little American Girl at the American Girl Cafe. This is Addie with her new doll Lanie. Lanie is the doll of the year this year, and I'm so glad Addie decided on her instead of the Kit doll......Lanie looks just like Addie! Curls and all :)
Lanie having pink lemonade too. They have this down to a science...it is such a cute experience for the girls! Both dolls were able to eat with us at the table. Addie and I decided that they like blueberries the best and we took turns feeding them :)
Addie's doll Elizabeth getting pampered....She got a new "do" for her hair and they scrubbed her down real good. They sent us home with stickers for her toes so that she can have painted toes. Addie also got Lanie's ears pierced so that she looks like a big girl!
Time with my girl.......Priceless! We spent the majority of the morning at the store, then shopped till we dropped. I got Addie a little pull behind case that her dolls stuck out of, and we walked all over that mall with them in tow. People either thought it was adorable or crazy. We got both responses, but most thought it was a genius way to shop. She and I had the best time and I can't wait until we're able to do it again!!!!
