New School Year, New After School Activities

School has started and we are knee deep in after school activities again.....our only day without an activity is now Friday. Gah! I wouldn't trade it for anything though. I LOVE watching my kids try new things and feel good when they accomplish something new. This year the boys have started golf lessons at Fairways and Greens. They are learning so much and both seem to especially enjoy putting. They are having so much fun I'm even thinking about taking some lessons :). I'll post some pics as soon as I get some good ones. For now....enjoy pics of Addie twirling "batwon." Uh huh. You heard me. She is twirling baton! I know, I know.......why in the world would we let her do this after I grew up twirling? Well, she saw the flier about the CAK majorettes and begged to try it. My mom and I about died. Like, seriously? You want to twirl? But she was so cute about it, so we gave in. So far, she loves it. Gah! This group of CAK twirlers will be performing several times this year, so I'll keep you informed. Of course we're still doing the gymnastics thing too. For now, enjoy some pics of Addie at practice. Looks like she's got it in her genes (snort!)

This picture kills me. I LOVE her.

Great Granny's Party (cont.)

Me with my cousins Shenoa and Shanie. It is sad, but true, we Thomas folks only get together once a year now. The family has grown so much that someone is always traveling to see other parts of family, etc. So, when we get the chance, we take lots of pics! Shanie and Shenoa belong to my Aunt Jean and were my two cousins I totally looked up to back in the day :)

Granny and Myself.....Hope I am as blessed as she is one day! I was a seriously sick little girl growing up.....chronic strep throat and a not so strong stomach. Granny was always the one who nursed me back to health with saltines and sprite. They don't come any better than this and I hope I can leave the same legacy that she has someday :)

Granny with her kids (from L to R)....Uncle Pryor, Aunt Jean, Aunt Vickie, and My Dad!

The whole Thomas Family! I think the only person missing out of this pic was my cousin Lauren. Definitely a keepsake!!!!!

Great Granny's Birthday

As you can see, my last post never came through. I was trying to upload a video of the kids signing in their school Chapel, but I can't figure out how to post it there. I'll keep working on it, but for now, enjoy pics of my grandmother's recent birthday party. To say she is a miracle is an understatement! Granny (Great Granny) turned 94 last week. She has been blessed with a long life and the best blessing of all....getting to see and enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Happy Birthday Great Granny.....and long live the Queen :)

The kids with Great Granny

Reading their hand made Birthday Cards.....Asher eating a tootsie roll pop. Granny loved to feed her grandchildren when we would come to her house. Now that she's in a nursing home, she's still concerned with giving treats to the great grandkids......her purse is always stocked with tootsie roll pops!

With all of her Great Grandchildren!!!!!

The Family Tailgate

So, we managed to find two extra tickets for the Florida/Tennessee game last Saturday. Jody and I decided the kids were old enough to tailgate, so we had the first ever Griffin Family Tailgate! Of course the game was a bust and so, so hot, but the best part of the day was eating lunch with the kids. Here are a couple of pics of the festivities!

10 Years!!

As most of you know, Jody and I just got back from a week long trip to Seaside, Florida (without the kids!)........this trip was a little gift to us for sticking it out for 10 years of marriage! God continues to do amazing things in and through us and we give him all the glory for all that we are and all that we hope to become! We had an awesome time away and will have many great memories of our trip together. Of course, there is always a story to tell and I will say it using one word FLEAS. If you read this and want to know, ask us! It's always something and I love to laugh about it (what else can you do, right?). Thank you, Jody, for a great week away in one of the prettiest places on earth!
