The Ball Boy

Last weekend Bay had the opportunity to be a ball boy for the Tennessee/Georgia basketball game. My mom (his meme) bid on this opportunity at an auction, and we've been anxiously awaiting this opportunity ever since. Bay was super nervous......but don't tell him I told you so. I had to do some encouraging and pep talking before we headed over there. Needless to say, he was the cutest ball boy I've ever seen on that court. I'm not quite sure why they call them ball boys anymore.....he never came close to touching a ball. And they didn't really clean the floors either. Those boys just put the towels under their feet and walked around like they were totally annoyed at their responsibility. We are learning that 8 years old (for a boy) is quite the year for attitude! He is a great boy though, and I love him to pieces. I was such a proud momma watching him on that court....and he wasn't even in the game. Snort!

Getting instructions before the game....

The cleaning technique used by the ball boys. He's hard at work here :)

This one cracks me up. He's not even paying attention to what he's doing. He's looking at the jumbotron, the ref's looking at him, and all the people in the stands are looking up. I think this was during the "kiss cam!" Thank you so much Meme for a great experience.....you may not have gotten a hug or a big thank you, but he couldn't stop talking about it after the fact. Before the game he got a high five from all the players, and I think he was pretty amazed at the size of the team. They are so much bigger when you're standing beside them!

Addie and The Cast

So, I think I made a comment about it awhile back, but if not, here's the scoop. We were getting ready for church several Sunday's ago and the kids were in the basement playing until we called them up to get dressed. Apparently there was a pillow fight going on, and next thing you know, Addie is in the floor. She must have hit her elbow pretty hard and after a trip to the ER and then a second opinion with a pediatric orthopaedic guy, she ended up in a cast for two weeks. Needless to say, it's been busy around here. The goodnews is the cast came off yesterday. The bad news is, she can't go back to gymnastics until she can straighten her arm out again. We got it off yesterday and after a warm bath last night, she seems to be making progress. Hopefully she'll be good as new in a couple of days :). Of course, no cast is going to stop her from doing gymnastics. Gah! She's got a great one arm cartwheel now!!!!!

Ty's 1st Birthday

My nephew Ty recently celebrated his 1st Birthday with a party at our house. My sister has already posted pics on her blog, but I thought I'd share a few of the highlights I managed to capture! Cha Cha, you've got to see the rest of my pics. He is making that face with his scrunched up nose in most of them......this little guy has quite a personality....and a mind of his own. Should be fun watching him grow :)!

It's my 1st Birthday!!!1

Sweetness....his eyebrows kill me. I know a lot of women that would kill for arches like that. Ha!

Me and Ty. I think this is funny because it looks like he's waving at the camera....Snort!

Not amused by the hat mom.

He's A Fellow!

Jody and I traveled last weekend to Columbus, Ohio for a special occasion. Jody has been training the past 4 years to do dental implants. It's taken some time, because he's had to do a lot of traveling back and forth between here and Ohio. Last weekend was so great, because he is now an official Fellow of the Midwest Implant Institute! I was able to make the trip, and, despite being sick, managed to get a few pics at the reception dinner. It was a Mississippi River Boat themed Party complete with bluegrass band and poker tables.

The scene....

The band during dinner....

Jody receiving his certificate and pin from some of the other Fellows....

I am so thankful for those of you who watched our kids so that I could make the trip. It was so great to see all of the people he has been training with and to meet a few new faces. Quite an accomplishment for Jody......I am so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Christmas Musical.....Finally!

The CAK Elementary Christmas Musical was canceled back in December because of snow, and last night the kids finally got to put on their performance. They did such a great job!!!! Addie and Asher sang and danced in it, and Bay had a speaking part! Of course I can't get the video on here, so all I have are pics......

The setting.......

Pre-1st cowboys doing their stuff!

Bay doing his speaking part as an army guy.....

Addie and the girls.........as you can see, Addie is in a sling. Sunday morning the kids were playing in the basement while Jody and I were getting dressed for church. Next thing we know, Addie is crying and her elbow is seriously swollen. Turns out they were fighting with the pillows and big brother bay hit her a little too hard and she fell off the couch and landed on her arm. After a trip to the ER Sunday night and them saying it's not broken, we now have the sling. But wait, there's always more.........took Asher to the doctor yesterday for his horrible cough and he (the doctor) asked to look at Addie's arm. He was insistent that we get another x-ray and another opinion........saying "I don't like the swelling. It looks broken to me." Gah! Addie is terrified of it being broken because she doesn't want to miss gymnastics :(. Wish us luck. Tomorrow we see the Pediatric doc at the orthopedic place for more x-rays. Hopefully she'll be back in perfect shape soon. Oh, and yes. Bay did get in trouble for his part even though they were playing. He is in charge of carrying her backpack into and out of school everyday.

Sunny day Fun

The last several days have been unusually warm around here....so, of course, we made the boys go outside to play in the yard. No more video games..........."get outside!!!" Baseball season is just around the corner, and both boys will be playing this year. Bay won't be playing Farragut Baseball, but will be on a travel team playing local tournaments. Asher will be playing in the Farragut League and will be trying Machine Pitch. Eek! I worried with Bay and now I worry about my little guy. Jody's gonna have to get him in the batting cages to get used to things :) The boys did a little catching practice and Bay worked a little on pitching with his dad. Addie enjoyed the swings and her bike. Don't know about you, but we are definitely ready for Spring in our family!!!!

Twirling Performance

My last blog post was yet another attempt at putting a flip video onto the blog. I still have been unable to get my computer to upload videos to this. I don't know why it won't work. It just says uploading for, like an hour and a half, and I say forget it. Anyway, that last post was the still picture of Addie's recent twirling performance. Sorry I can't get it to post!! It is so cute :) In lieu of video, here are a few still pics I managed to capture. The girls did their routine at halftime of a middle school basketball game.

This one's my favorite. I love how she and her friend Emma are looking at each other. They were so proud of themselves!
